DIAM Group (DIAM) submitted its Act4Nature commitments on biodiversity and their ESG Report 2023 to the It’s Now for Nature campaign and met all the review criteria to be part of the campaign.

- DIAM’s 2023 materiality assessment recognizes that biodiversity, water and climate are among the most critical planetary boundaries breached today. Chemicals & Waste and recycling are also material issues.
- DIAM’s material impacts come from raw materials including plastic, metal, and timber-based material; electronics, and chemicals.
- DIAM assessed its biodiversity footprint, emphasizing impacts from raw materials and in-store product use.
- In 2024, DIAM launched a double materiality exercise to comply with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) by 2025.
- DIAM has 10 SMART targets included in their Act4Nature submission related to biodiversity from 2024- 2030. For example, they will have set Science-Based Targets for Nature by 2030.
- In their sustainability roadmap for 2030, they have outlined additional nature-related targets:
- By 2025, DIAM will use 100% certified wood-based products in production and have certified its relevant sites for chain of custody.
- By 2030, DIAM will be using 80% recycled plastic in production.
- DIAM’s biodiversity actions focus on: measuring, evaluating, and improving impacts; eco-designing products; building internal knowledge; and regenerating nature.
- DIAM uses policies and action plans for climate change, pollution, water use and resources and circular economy.
- For example, DIAM uses life cycle assessments (LCAs) as a basis of product design, working to use less materials, less harmful materials, and enabling a circular economy.
- For example, on resource use, DIAM is increasing the use of recycled plastic, certified wood and reducing the weight of products.
- The CEO has signed off the biodiversity commitments of DIAM Group.
- DIAM’s entire environmental strategy, including our new biodiversity roadmap and our international Act4Nature commitment this year, is discussed and then validated with the group’s management and executive committee.
